    THE SCENE THAT CELEBRATES ITSELF
Brace yourselves for a flurry of activity on the Offbeat Generation front. Paul Ewen's extraordinary pub stories will soon be hitting the bookshelves. Tom McCarthy's instant classic, Remainder, has been snapped up by Alma Books and his Tintin and the Secret of Literature comes out on Granta in July. Meanwhile, Heidi James (pictured) is poised to release works by Tony O'Neill, HP Tinker and Lee Rourke, as well as an Offbeat Generation anthology, on her Social Disease label. Heidi's own debut, Carbon (March 07 on Wrecking Ball Press), is destined to be one of the novels of the year (next year, that is). You read it here first.

Over in Prague, Travis Jeppesen (pictured with bass guitar) has just published Poems I Wrote While Watching TV (reviewed here) illustrated by Jeremiah Palecek. Three of Travis's poems appear in 3:AM's Edgier Waters anthology which is out now.

The next BLATT Books release will be Federmania, a Raymond Federman reader edited by BLATT NY editor Joshua Cohen whose first novel, Cadenza for the Schneidermann Violin Concerto, will be published by the Fugue State Press in August.

Another interesting development: like Parisian hipster Laurence Remila whose band Gulcher seem about to hit the big time, Travis Jeppesen is now performing with Jeremiah Palecek's band King Vitamin. Together, they have already played two gigs in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Berlin.

On a more personal note: congratulations to Utahna Faith, 3:AM's flash fiction editor and founder of Wild Strawberries magazine, who recently got married and is now expecting a baby. Congratulations also to Vim Cortez of Paris Bitter Hearts Pit fame for fathering two beautiful twins.
