3:AM TOP 5: STEWART HOME
Stewart Home, who read at the Trocchi night the other evening, has asked us to draw your attention to the following project of his:
LONDON ART TRIPPING: Stewart Home takes you on a journey from west to east London as a way of delineating the psychogeographical shifts of London's cultural centres over fifty years. The landscape is splashed across a large canvas with looks at bohemia, Notting Hill, Soho, Hoxton, Hackney, Bethnal Green, pubs, clubs, drugs and places to visit. Words and still images at - www.stewarthomesociety.org/art/trip.htm - with links to filmed interviews with Jeremy Deller (Turner Prize winner), Francis Morland (sculptor), Mikey Cuddihy (painter), Barry Smith (musician) and Bill Hopkins (writer).
Stewart's next book, Memphis Underground, is published in April 2007 by Snowbooks. His Memphis Soul Top 5 is:
