3:AM TOP 5: MARK THWAITE
Mark Thwaite (pictured) is the founder and managing editor of the acclaimed literary website ReadySteadyBook. With regret, he thinks most modern literature lacks "perspicacity, skill, wisdom, depth, relevance and artistry". He consoles himself by reading "old, good stuff" (as opposed to good old stuff, presumably) like Beckett, Blanchot, Broch, Kafka, Melville and Proust. He thanks god for Gabriel Josipovici, translators, dogs and soya milk. He is currently listening to:
1. "Kafka-Fragmente" -- Gyorgy Kurtag 2. "Handwriting" -- Khonnor 3. "Plume" -- Loscil 4. "Pulse Shadows" -- Harrison Birtwistle 5. "The Ride" -- Joan As Police Woman
